Funding: Funded: verify amount on website. Who can apply: $10,000 total per project ($6,000 during program, $2,000 at 6-month check-in, $2,000 at 12-month check-in); applicant must be 18+, an existing maintainer of an adopted open-source project, in a GitHub Sponsors-supported region. Length: 3-week. Funds and trains individual open-source maintainers (or small teams up to 3) to harden the security of widely-used open-source software, combining direct cash funding with hands-on security education and mentorship.
