American Institute of Indian Studies Junior Research Fellowship (AIIS)

Funding: $7,000 for up to 11 months in residence in India. Who can apply: Doctoral candidates enrolled at US universities in all fields of study, in the research-gathering or dissertation-writing stage; non-US citizens are eligible if enrolled as graduate students or full-time faculty at a US college or university; not restricted to AIIS member institutions. Formal AIIS institutional affiliation with an Indian university and research supervisor; in-country logistical and administrative support before, during, and after the fellowship.
