Board Fellows for Nonprofits

Funding: Unpaid fellowship, no stipend; students may earn academic elective/practical-experience credit toward their MBA/MPA instead of cash compensation. Who can apply: Open to UW Foster full-time, evening, hybrid, or TMMBA MBA students and Evans School MPA students in their second or third year of the program. Length: One academic year (fall–spring, monthly/bimonthly board meetings). Non-voting board membership with a Washington-state nonprofit; participation on a standing board committee; a board-level strategy project; a Board Leadership Class grounding fellows in governance best practices; mentorship from a board member.
