Ken Hale Student Fellowship (Linguistic Institute Fellowship)

Funding: Up to $3,200. Who can apply: Graduate students who are LSA Student Members pursuing study focused on documenting endangered languages and working with communities toward their preservation; must enroll in 4+ courses during the 4+ week Institute; prior fellowship recipients are ineligible. Length: Duration of the LSA Linguistic Institute (4+ weeks). Can be used to cover tuition, travel, room and board for attending the LSA Linguistic Institute. Field: Linguistics (Endangered Language Documentation). Deadline: 2025 cycle closed; 2027 cycle deadline not yet announced as of this writing.
