California Sea Grant State Fellowship

Funding: $61,524 stipend + health insurance for the 12-month assignment (~$5,127/month), plus up to $2,500 in travel reimbursement. Who can apply: Graduate students (Master's, PhD, or JD) close to completing their degree, or recent graduates (after May 1 2024) from a California university, in fields related to conservation, management, policy, or law of marine/coastal/watershed environments; must be eligible to work in the US. Length: 12 months. Health insurance, travel funding, direct policy-office placement. Field: Marine, coastal, and watershed policy/management. Deadline: June 13, 2025, 5:00pm PT for the 2026 cohort (recurring annually, check site for next cycle's exact date).
