Funding: Unpaid fellowship; limited scholarships available to cover travel costs for fellows demonstrating financial need. Who can apply: Lawyers, law students, arbitrators, mediators, and other ADR practitioners (or those with demonstrated ADR interest via work, pro bono service, or academic achievement); historically targets early-career and aspiring ADR professionals, with an emphasis on increasing diversity in the field. US and US-territory based, though some international jurisdictions also participate. Length: One-year fellowship anchored by an intensive training week at AAA headquarters (5 days). Mentorship with AAA arbitrators/mediators, networking, speaking and article-placement opportunities. Field: Alternative dispute resolution / mediation & arbitration, with strong overlap into restorative and community-based conflict resolution practice.
