Funding: Stipend for 28 months plus research funds up to US$10,500, plus training and a laptop. Who can apply: Holders of a Master's degree who are teaching/research staff at a CARTA partner African institution and intend to pursue (or have just begun) PhD research in public/population health; prior PhD admission is not required at application, it must be secured within the first 12 months of the fellowship. Men under 40, women under 45. Length: 28 months (fellowship), 4 years typical for full PhD. Field: Health Sciences. Deadline: Annual (2026 cohort deadline was August 2025; next cycle expected to open mid-2026 for 2027 cohort).
