Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship

Funding: $26,000 stipend. Who can apply: Currently enrolled University of Minnesota PhD students only, formally nominated by their graduate program; must have passed written and oral prelims by Feb 26, 2027; coursework complete by end of spring 2027; expected to graduate calendar year 2028; open regardless of citizenship status; cannot have previously received this fellowship. Length: 1 academic year. Academic-year tuition (up to 14 credits/semester at the general graduate rate), subsidized health insurance for up to one calendar year, $1,000 conference grant. Field: University-specific final-year dissertation fellowship, open regardless of citizenship but limited to the university's own PhD candidates.
