National Humanities Center Residential Fellowship (NHC)

Funding: Stipend individually determined based on applicant's salary and need; NHC aims to cover approximately half of a fellow's salary; covers round-trip travel for fellow and immediate family. Who can apply: PhD or equivalent terminal degree, earned at least five years prior to applying; substantial scholarly work beyond the dissertation; does not fund postdocs or current doctoral students; open to US and international scholars. Length: Academic year (September-May) residency; fall-only and spring-only options also available. Private study, daily meal, full library and reference support, scholarly community and seminars; sponsors J-1 Research Scholar visas for eligible international fellows. Field: Humanities.
