Rosalynn Carter Fellowships for Mental Health Journalism

Funding: $10,000 stipend. Who can apply: Early-career and established professionals with at least 3 years of experience in journalism (writing, reporting, editing, producing, filmmaking); prior mental health reporting experience not required. Length: One year. Intensive training on mental health reporting; mandatory expense-paid Fellowship Training Meetings at The Carter Center in Atlanta (start and end of fellowship year). Field: Mental Health Policy & Journalism/Communications. Deadline: April 3, 2026 for the 2026-2027 cohort (recurring annual deadline, early spring).
