Senior Attorney Sabbaticals Program

Funding: Up to $25,000 (salary reimbursement to sponsoring organization plus travel expenses capped at $10,000). Who can apply: Senior practicing attorneys (minimum 10 years full-time consecutive service, excluding clerkships) at a public interest law organization in the five-county Philadelphia region that is a current or former Independence Foundation grantee; not restricted to students or recent graduates; must not have taken another sabbatical in the prior five years and must commit to remaining in the sector at least two years post-sabbatical. Length: Two months. Field: Public Interest Law - Senior Attorney Wellbeing/Sabbatical. Deadline: Annual; 2026 cycle deadline was May 5, 2026 (recurring program, next cycle deadline expected similarly in spring).
