Grants for Artists (GFA)

Funding: $2,500. Who can apply: Independent, unaffiliated Maryland resident artists (owning or renting residential property in Maryland for 6+ months prior to application) age 18+, with a sustained artistic practice in a discipline MSAC supports (dance, music, visual art, public art, folk and traditional arts, media arts, literary arts, theatre); must not be enrolled in a matriculated high school, undergraduate, or graduate degree program; no fee to apply. Length: One-time annual grant; awarded funds must be spent/obligated by August 15, 2026. None beyond the cash grant; funds may cover working/living expenses, materials, entry fees, marketing, travel, etc. Field: Multidisciplinary (visual art, music, dance, media arts, literary arts, theatre, folk/traditional arts). Deadline: March 9, 2026 (FY2026 cycle; recurring annual).
