I Tatti Fellowship

Funding: $65,000 stipend plus a supplement toward relocation expenses. Who can apply: PhD (or equivalent) received between January 1, 2016 and September 1, 2026, inclusive (rolling window each cycle); conversant in English or Italian and able to understand both; strong background in Italian Renaissance studies (14th-17th c.); must take full academic leave from home institution with no other paid/unpaid obligations; one fellowship slot reserved for Franco-Italian topics/French citizens. Length: 12 months, residential, July 1-June 30; fellows must live in Florence area and be present at the Villa/lunch at least 3 days/week. Rent-free apartment on the I Tatti property (utilities charged), or housing subsidy if unavailable; private study; use of the Biblioteca Berenson; weekday lunches with fellow scholars.
