Funding: paid via Intergovernmental Personnel Act (IPA) appointment -- home university reimbursed for the scholar's academic salary and benefits by the SEC. Who can apply: PhD in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, statistics, or similar quantitative field, with a strong research background; typically an active university faculty member. Length: typically 1-2 years. Direct collaboration with DERA staff on SEC research and policy projects; access to SEC data. Field: Securities markets / financial economics research at a financial regulator.
