Educational transitions: navigating change

The next biannual conference of the Sociology of Education Research Network of the Swiss Sociological Association explores educational transitions as critical turning points in educational and student trajectories. It examines how transitions are shaped by institutional frameworks, social categories and biographical timelines, and how they are experienced and managed differently. The aim is to bring together theoretical, empirical and methodological contributions to shed light on the social mechanisms that produce ‘successful’, ‘prevented’ or ‘costly’ transitions, from school and student transitions to the transition from education to employment.
