The Medical Research Council (MRC), in collaboration with the Wellcome Trust, NC3Rs and Innovate UK, has invested £15.9 million to support the novel human in vitro disease model clusters (IHDM-C) initiative, which aims to redefine human-based research models for greater understanding of disease and the acceleration of new medicines.
