Family Medicine. The University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry (URSMD) Department of Family Medicine (DFM) is one of the original academic Family Medicine departments in the country. The Department continues to lead primary care in the 21st century with notable strengths in the bio-psychosocial model, women’s health, global health, and caring for underserved populations.
