Work Plan: The work consists in the production of PHA at pilot scale from agri-food waste and sludge from wastewater treatment plants (WWTP) using mixed microbial cultures with emphasis i) on the optimization of the PHA accumulation stage through real-time monitoring based on NIR spectroscopy; and ii) on the development of a process for the extraction/purification of the produced PHA.
