Economist Program (EP)

Who can apply: Holds or is close to completing a PhD in macroeconomics, public finance, monetary economics, international economics, political economy, econometrics, or a closely related field; PhD must be completed within about one year of joining the program. Length: Three years (two 18-month rotations). Two 18-month rotational assignments in different IMF departments in Washington, D.C.; structured career-development track intended to prepare participants for longer-term roles at the Fund. Field: Economics and Financial Policy. Deadline: December 4, 2025 (2026 cohort; this cycle has closed).
